Instructor: Jason Miller

Jason Miller is a Principal Broker with Diversified Property Management, bringing over 20 years of experience in real estate, with a primary focus on property management. He has held multiple leadership roles within the Oregon Rental Housing Association, including President, Legislative Director, and currently serves as Vice President. Jason earned the Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation from the National Apartment Association in 2019. In 2024, he further advanced his credentials by obtaining the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

This presentation provides an overview of Fair Housing laws and their critical role in ensuring equal access to housing for all individuals. It explores the historical context that shaped today’s regulations, outlines federal, state, and local protections, and highlights the responsibilities of housing providers in preventing discrimination. Additionally, the presentation covers key topics such as protected classes, reasonable accommodations, screening practices, and compliance requirements. By understanding these principles, housing professionals can promote fairness, reduce risk, and create inclusive communities while remaining compliant with the law.
